HO DC Layout
The HO-scale layout is a 93 foot
long by 21 foot side layout.
There are many switching areas,
diesel engine facilities, a set
of arrival-departure tracks and
an operating passenger train
station
which will accommodate 35
85-foot passenger cars.

The mainline track is divided
into 21 separate electrical
blocks. Each section of track
has a set of feeders down to the
block bus wires to prevent
voltage drop over long
stretches. Block control panels
are at the end of each block and
a block signal system is
installed for each block.

There are a total of 6 mainline
throttles which are the radio
controlled walk-around type so
the operator can walk with
his/her train around the layout.
Various sidings and yards
are equipped with individual
throttles.

In 2007 one of the six
controlling cabs was converted
to DCC. Operators now have the
choice of running conventional
DC or Digitrax DCC with full
sound capabilities.
2008 plans include isolating all
21 blocks with separate DCC
power districts.
